The 23 annual Conference organised by the International Association for Insurance Law and the Association of Serbian Insurers entitled ”Insurance and Legal and Economic Environment – Wider and Narrower Framework” was held in Šabac from 30 th rd March to 1 April 2022.

In his introductory speech at the opening of the Conference, the President st of the International Association for Insurance Law, Professor Slobodan Jovanović, PhD, pointed out that studying insurance law and monitoring changes in practice and science of insurance law presents the common interest of members of both associations and other Conference participants. He emphasized the importance of a comprehensive review of current insurance trends, pointing out a number of topics whose consideration has been announced.

– Science and insurance are expected to provide answers and solutions to certain issues, bearing in mind the stability and sustainability of the insurance sector. By presenting papers on selected topics, these issues are analysed and explained, and round tables are an opportunity to discuss the proposed opinions and solutions that can give rise to some new views of current problems - said Professor Slobodan Jovanović, PhD, expressing confi dence that the Conference will take place in an academic atmosphere and in discussions about interesting topics.

OPEN DOORS FOR FURTHER GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF INSURANCE SECTOR
The fifth conference of insurers of Serbia was held in Aranđelovac, from 24 to 26 November, under the slogan “Tempora Mutantur” (Times are Changing), as the largest conference of the insurance profession and science in our country. The Association of Serbian Insurers (ASI), the organizer of the conference, managed to gather a large number of panellists, state representatives and insurers who analysed current trends in the insurance market, new risks posed by the coronavirus pandemic, and the ability of insurance companies to adapt to new circumstances and not only survive but be one of the important bearers of economic stability.

The 22 annual conference of the Insurance Law Association of Serbia, co-organized by the Association of Insurers of Serbia, was held in Šabac from April 23 to 25. The topic of this year’s scientific gathering was “Modern Technologies, New and Traditional Risks in Insurance”. The work was organized in the form of round tables that dealt with the most current issues of insurance business and law. nd

The online conference titled the Fourth Serbian Insurance Days organized by the Association of Serbian Insurers (UOS), held on November 26 under the symbolic title “How are you, friends” gathered the prominent representatives of insurance and reinsurance companies, insurance associations and other financial institutions from Serbia, the Region and the EU. Addressing the participants, the Conference moderator, Zoran Ćirić from the UOS, pointed out that the topics of Solvency II, International Financial Reporting Standards IFRS 17, Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), catastrophic damage and other actualities. Mr. Ćirić highlighted that today, in the Corona virus pandemic environment, we show interest in the health of the participants, the way how they complete their work processes, how the actual situation affected the insurance market and finally we want to show that we care for our insured and send the message that the insurance sector is a stable, reliable and required partner and a support.

In order to understand the origin and development of cooperation between the Insurance Law Association of Serbia and Dunav Insurance Company, it is necessary to briefly acquaint the readers with the origins of the professional association for insurance law, as an institution. Since its emergence, the insurance business has always been a faithful companion of important social activities and a custodian of the economic values of individual and social property. Different social circumstances determine the direction in which economic activities and trade services will develop and, to that extent, insurance is no exception. With the emergence and development of joint stock insurance companies, the market has followed the economic and general social development by expanding the offer of insurance services.

The Third Serbian Insurance Days were held in Aranđelovac on November 28 and 29, 2019, under the title “View of the past, present and future of insurance in Serbia”. Participants of this large international conference on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia were greeted by Zoran Đorđević, the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy. He addressed the representatives of insurance companies and other fi nancial institutions, as well as numerous media, and pointed out that citizens of Serbia still do not have a fully developed awareness of the importance of insurance, and that they realise it in case of an unexpected event as was the case in 2014 when fl oods hit Obrenovac.

The Twentieth Annual Conference of Association for Insurance Law of Serbia and the Association of Serbian Insurers on the topic of “Law and Practice of Insurance - Current Issues and Future Challenges” took place on Palić from 12 to 14 April this year.
Welcoming the participants of the Conference, President of the Association of Serbian Insurers, prof. Slobodan Jovanović PhD emphasized the role of this Association in the modernization of Serbian regulatory framework, especially the insurance law.

The 18th Annual Conference titled “Proportionality and Legal Certainty in Insurance Law” was held on 21st and 22nd April, on Palic, organized by the Association for Insurance Law of Serbia, Association of Serbian Insurers and the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation. This international conference brought together around seventy participants from Serbia, Germany, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Turkey, Malta and other countries.

U Kоngrеsnоm cеntru hоtеlа „Grаnd“ nа Kоpаоniku, od 8. do 10. marta održan је 23. Kоpаоnik biznis fоrum, kојi је оvе gоdinе оkupiо višе оd 980 učеsnikа – predstavnika Vlade, domaćih i stranih privrednika, diplomata, ekonomskih analitičara, teoretičara, međunarodnih eksperata i nоvinаrа. Tema ovogodišnjeg foruma bilа je „Dostizanje i konvergencija sa vodećim trendovima: kako sanirati glavne pukotine u sistemu“, a tokom tri dana organizovano је 20 panela, tri plenarne sesije i pet specijalnih prezentacija.
